Eosin-Y-dextran 10 (EYD10) and Eosin-Y-lysine-dextran 500 (EYLD500) are dextran-based derivatives that are labeled with the dye Eosin Y (2-(2,4,5,7-tetrabromo-6-oxido-3-oxo-3H-xanthen-9-yl) benzoate; CAS No: 17372-87-1). These products are manufactured using a special technique created by TdB Labs, which enables a significant level of functionalization.
Derivatives
We offer the following products; Eosin-Y-dextran 10 (EYD10) and Eosin-Y-lysine-dextran 500 (EYLD500).
Spectral data
Both EYD10 (excitation max. at λ=532 nm and fluorescence max. at λ=555 nm in water) and EYLD500 (excitation max. at λ=530 nm and fluorescence max. at λ=548 nm in water) exhibit strong orange fluorescence.
Applications
Both our Eosin-Y-derivatives; EYD10 and EYLD500 are sensitive to pH due to the presence of Eosin Y, a tetrabrominated derivative of fluorescein that exhibits a similar dependency on pH like its parent compound, where the decrease in fluorescence is observed when the pH decreases from 9 to 1. EYLD10 and EYLD500 could thus be highly useful for the development of pH probes and generally environment-responsive biosensors and potentially diagnostic systems.
