Structure
Polysucrose is a high molecular weight sucrose-polymer formed by copolymerisation of sucrose with epichlorohydrin. The molecules are highly branched, and the high content of hydroxyl groups leads to very good solubility in aqueous media. DEAE-polysucrose is then prepared by reacting polysucrose with diethylaminoethyl chloride.
Storage and stability
DEAE-polysucrose is stable for more than 6 years when stored dry in well-sealed containers at ambient temperature.
Solubility
DEAE-polysucrose dissolves readily in water.
