Lysine-dextran

Lysine-dextrans are dextran derivatives carrying both free primary amines and free carboxylates. Lysine is a naturally occurring amino acid and a popular moiety for conjugation and fixation in biochemistry and life sciences. All batches are checked for molecular weight, degree of substitution, and loss on drying. TdB labs produce lysine-dextran from 4 kDa to 500 kDa which is supplied as a white powder.

Structure
Lysine-dextrans are well-characterised dextran fractions derived from Leuconostoc mesenteroides to which lysine is coupled.
Storage and stability
It is stable for more than 6 years when stored dry in well-sealed containers at ambient temperature.
Solubility
It dissolves readily in water.
Application
It can be labeled with dyes or biomolecules under mild conditions and fixes well in cells and tissue when treated with formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde. Read more about application here.
