Structure
ATTO488-dextran is synthesised from well-characterised dextran fractions derived from Leuconostoc mesenteroides via the succinimidyl-derivative of ATTO488. The degree of substitution of ATTO488 is between 0.001-0.008.
Spectral data
ATTO488-dextran has an absorbance maximum at 502nm (in borate buffer, pH 9.0) and an emission wavelength of 524 nm.
Storage and stability
ATTO488-dextran is stable for more than 6 years when stored dry in well-sealed containers at ambient temperature.
Solubility
ATTO488-dextran dissolves readily in water.
Application
Fluorescent-dextrans are mainly used for studying permeability and microcirculation. Due to the high absorption, high quantum yield and photo-stability, products labeled with ATTO488 can also be used for single-molecule detection, flow cytometry (FACS), fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and more.
