Structure
FITC-lysine-dextrans are synthesised from well-characterised dextran fractions derived from Leuconostoc mesenteroides. The dextran fractions are first labelled with lysine and thereafter functionalised with FITC under mild conditions to form FITC-lysine-dextran. The degree of substitution of lysine is 0.005-0.03 (mol lysine/mol glucose) and the degree of substitution of FITC is 0.001-0.01 (mol FITC/mol glucose).
Spectral data
The excitation maximum for FITC-lysine-dextran is 490 – 495 nm and the emission maximum is 520 ± 5 nm.
Storage and stability
FITC-lysine-dextran is stable for more than 6 years when stored dry in well-sealed containers at ambient temperature.
Solubility
FITC-lysine-dextran dissolves readily in water.
Application
FlTC-lysine-dextran is a versatile tool for bioconjugation and fixation in living systems. Read more about applications here.
